Blended Memories

This is a project I have been working on for a long time. In its infancy it was a conduit for my wealth of archived photos, but it became a way to conceptualize my memories into a physical space, and to explore my relationship with them. Through this process I have come to discover and accept my complicated and ever-changing ties to the concept of home, and the importance of the identity that they are a part of.

To see the thesis work inspired by this series:

Plant Life

This was a project done in exploration of the ways that the natural world can echo what is familiar. In using a multi-media approach of digital prints with a hand-drawn illustration overplayed, I also used these pieces to explore the relationship between photography and other mediums, pushing the concept of what makes a photograph.

Remnants

Remnants was a project completed for my senior group exhibition at Herron School of Art and Design. My aim was to reflect on spaces of my youth that have irretrievably changed; though the ghosts of my memories of how they used to be remain. I can't find myself able to look at these spaces without overlaying what once was in my mind's eye. These spaces are all along a canal wall project that has surrounded my childhood neighborhood, places that I essentially grew up with, and since the project's completion are completely barren and changed; sometimes for seemingly no reason.
